Rothenburg ob der Tauber

Rothenburg ob der Tauber is the Christmas capital of the world, so it was inevitable that mom and I would love everything about this place. It was the perfect town to end our time in Germany, and we all thoroughly enjoyed it. Even Bob wanted more time here, which is perhaps the highest praise of all.

This photo almost captures why I think Rothenburg is one of the most charming and romantic places I've ever been.

Life-size nutcrackers and cuckoo clocks
German bakeries. Nuff said.

Schneeballen, beersteins and spƤtzle. Oh my!

Mom tried her best to find me a charming man whilst there.
A memorial to the Jewish population that was driven out back in the 1200s.
One of my favourite parts (perhaps a feeble phrase at this point since I clearly loved everything about this place!) of Rothenburg o.d.T. was the incredible view from where its castle once stood overlooking the Tauber valley. It didn't hurt that it was a gorgeous day, and that autumn was finally starting to catch up with us. Surely the amount of photos I've included of it will prove my obsession.
Former gatehouse to the old castle
Love at first sight.

Mom and Bob sat and listened to a flautist while I explored the grounds.

All looking at the camera. Nothing short of a miracle.
