We stopped in München for a couple hours to visit Marienplatz and have lunch, beginning our tour through my mother's mission. She served in the Germany Munich Mission 37 years ago, and this trip was her first visit back. We have talked of visiting her mission together for more than 20 years, so this was a big deal for us.

Oktoberfest was in full swing during our visit, which provided an even more festive atmosphere than normal. We gathered with the crowd to watch the giant cuckoo clock strike noon. It didn't disappoint. I love a good cuckoo clock! And the spectacle was the perfect way to kick off the tour of my mother's mission.
